Professional statement

Kristen Pfeffer is a licensed Social Worker based in Manhattan who works with individuals and couples. Her clients come in to address a range of issues including; anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, life transitions and relationship struggles. Kristen is particularly passionate about serving women looking to empower themselves and she has had consistent success working with career changers. Drawing on her experience as a yoga teacher and fitness trainer, Kristen believes that examining motivation and intention is a key to transformation.

Kristen works to create a safe space for clients to explore their story using a style that is warm, accepting and engaging.

She utilizes psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques, to collaboratively create a unique therapeutic process that identifies strengths and formulates meaningful goals for her clients. In session, Kristen listens for the answers that clients hold and reveal through their story, while working to reflect this inner wisdom back to them.

Kristen feels strongly about offering practical tools based in mindfulness that can be used immediately to help address issues of presence and clinging. This approach looks to support clients in cultivating deeper, more satisfying relationships and navigating life transitions with purpose while finding inspiration in more aspects of their life.

Kristen received her MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She also has extensive experience in educational, health care and fitness settings. Outside of private practice, she loves the theatre, being active in nature and her role as a mom. Kristen currently offers remote therapy sessions only.

Message to clients

It’s time to start living with joy and intention.

My goal is to create a compassionate therapeutic space for you to safely bring and explore all of who you are, at your pace with your goals in mind.

Let’s address what’s holding you back from participating fully in your life. Whether it's past trauma, relationship patterns that no longer serve you or fear of being your authentic self, we will identify your strengths and use then to create a life that excites you.

Take that first step and reach out, so we can see if our partnership feels right. I'm available to do a brief, complimentary phone consultation, or dive right into a full 50 minute session. I'm looking forward to learning about what makes you, who you are.
