Professional statement

Romi is a licensed social worker and psychotherapist serving individuals and couples virtually in the New York area. She is a graduate of Columbia University's School of Social Work, and incorporates tools from an array of evidence-based practices in an integrative fashion that is tailored to meet her clients’ unique concerns and objectives. With a background in clinical research, she is passionate about remaining up-to-date on new developments in the realms of psychology and mental health, and strives to bring the most current and holistic approaches to wellbeing to her sessions.

Romi views therapy as an excellent resource for rediscovering our internal strengths and building upon our resilience. Her approach to therapy is warm, interactive, and supportive. She describes the therapeutic alliance as a relationship that is cultivated on trust, safety, and respect, which is absent of external biases and judgments that often hinder our ability to be vulnerable with others.

Message to clients

I believe that the largest hurdles we face in life present the greatest opportunities for growth.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are facing obstacles within their communication systems, emotional and sexual connections, and sense of intimacy. I also work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, stress, or feeling disconnected from themselves or their relationships, as well as those wishing to explore matters of identity and sexuality. As a multicultural person, I enjoy meeting with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a nonjudgmental and inclusive environment.

If you would like to schedule a consultation or have any questions, I welcome emails and will respond as soon as possible. Currently, all of my sessions are being conducted virtually. I look forward to connecting with you!
