Master of Science in Education, MSEd Psychologist, PsyDDr. Vanessa Wagner is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Midtown NYC specializing in spirituality, anxiety, trauma and relationship challenges. She is an expert in supporting clients coping with anxiety and the aftermath of traumatic life experiences. Her expertise also includes supporting her clients in developing healthy communication and emotional regulation skills. Throughout Dr. Wagner’s professional experiences, she has devoted herself to supporting individuals of various cultural backgrounds and considers cultural sensitivity an important part of her work.
Offering sessions in both English and Spanish, Dr. Wagner takes special care in tailoring her approach to the needs of each client. She draws upon a blend of evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychoanalytic therapy, with an emphasis on mindfulness. Supportive and warm, she is excited to be a part of each client’s path to healing.
Dr. Wagner received her PsyD from Pace University and subsequently completed an internship with the JCCA foster care agency. Before starting her private practice, she worked in New York City’s Department of Education in the Committee of Special Education, giving her unique insight into how families can successfully advocate for their children across institutional settings. During her postdoctoral fellowship at NYU, she provided therapy to mothers suffering from PTSD and taught them healthy parenting skills to use with their young children. In private practice, Dr. Wagner integrates mindfulness and spirituality when working with adults from various cultural backgrounds.
