Current topics include health behaviors, communication skills, relationship enhancement, career transitions, and mood and anxiety regulation strategies. A combination of cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal psychotherapy techniques are used to effect growth and change.
Why: By way of the group process, members have the opportunity to receive and give social support, experience interpersonal learning and positive social interactions, gain insight into their strengths and challenges, receive honest feedback, practice effective communication, and develop important relationship skills.
Dr. Julie Kolzet is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides compassionate and professional care to patients experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, work-related stress, adjustment issues, relationship concerns, insomnia, and weight management. In particular, Dr. Kolzet has specialized training in health psychology and is the founder of Insomnia Relief NY, a portion of her practice that provides specialized, non-medication based treatment for insomnia.
When working with patients, Dr. Kolzet works diligently to ensure that her techniques are well matched to each individual's goals and strengths. She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), the #1 recommended method for treating insomnia.
